Lady Mustangs Return Home For Battle With Hornets

Conway, Ark. – Looking to end a five-game losing streak, Central Baptist College women's basketball returns home tomorrow for an American Midwest Conference matchup with the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. inside Reddin Fieldhouse and you can find coverage of the game here on the web.
GAME NOTES
- CBC enters the contest 9-8 overall and 2-6 in the AMC
- HSSU is 4-9 overall and 2-6 in AMC play
- The all-time series is tied at five, but the Lady Mustangs have won the last four in a row, including an 83-80 win the last time they met on Feb. 1, 2020 in Conway
- Aminata Seck leads the team in scoring at 16.5 points per game while Alexis Augustus is the only other player in double figures, averaging 14.9 per game while the team is scoring 68.6 points per game on 38 percent from the field, 28 percent from three and 70 percent at the free throw line
- Seck is also the leading rebounder, grabbing 10.2 of the team's 42.8 rebounds per game
- Diana Rivera leads the team in assists, handing out 2.8 per game
- CBC is committing 16.6 turnovers per game
- On defense, the Lady Mustangs allow 59.8 points per game on 38 percent from the field and 30 percent from three while opponents shoot 65 percent at the free throw line, grab 34.7 rebounds per game and are forced into 18.6 turnovers per game
- HSSU is led in scoring by Deyana Dodd, who averages 10.4 of the team's 57.7 points per game
- J'Lessa Jordan averages 6.2 of the team's 37.3 rebounds per game
- Dodd is also the leader in assists, handing out 3.6 per game
- HSSU is committing 16.2 turnovers per contest
- Defensively, the Hornets allow 67.2 points per game on 42 percent from the field, 32 percent from three and opponents shoot 73 percent at the free throw line with 38.6 rebounds per game and 19.5 turnovers per game
