Various Locations – A busy slate of competitions dotted the slate today for Central Baptist College athletics with wrestling, volleyball, men's soccer and men's basketball all competing today. Wrestling opened their season at the Kaufman/Bayly/Brand Open in St. Louis, Mo.; Volleyball hosted Harris-Stowe at Reddin Fieldhouse on Senior Day; Men's Soccer took on William Woods in the American Midwest Conference Quarterfinals in Fulton, Mo., and Men's Basketball took on John Brown in Siloam Springs.
The Mustang men's basketball looked to start 3-0 on the season tonight as they took on John Brown at Bill George Arena in Siloam Springs. CBC (2-1) led 47-35 at halftime, but was outscored 45-27 in the second half to fall 81-74 to JBU (2-0).
Deshawn Corprew posted his second double-double of the season, leading the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Sage Borbon, Devin Foster and Jonas Carlisle also had double figures scoring with 12, 10 and 10, respectively, but shot only 21 percent from three in the defeat. CBC will be back on the road on Friday afternoon for the first game of the Dunn Hospitality Group Classic in Oakland City, Ind., against the host institution, Oakland City University. Tipoff from the Johnson Center is scheduled for 5 p.m.
