Conway, Ark. – Coming off an American Midwest Conference opening loss on Thursday, Central Baptist College women's basketball hosted the Eutectics of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis in an American Midwest Conference game at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse this afternoon. CBC (3-2, 1-1 AMC) led after every quarter and cruised to an 85-66 win over UHSP (1-5,1-1 AMC).
Aliya Grotjohn led the way with 20 points, 16 of which she scored in the first half. Riley Whittington posted her second consecutive 19 point outing while Raigan Head added 17 and Lydia York chipped in with 12. Head notched her third double-double of the season by leading the way with 12 rebounds while Whittington added seven assists. CBC outshot UHSP 44-35 percent from the field and 41-25 percent from three.
GAME FLOW
The teams traded the first five points of the contest before a three by Grotjohn made it 8-5 with 7:31 left to give CBC a lead they would never relinquish. The Mustangs took a 43-30 lead into halftime before scoring 25 points in the third quarter and 17 in the fourth.
