St. Louis, Mo. – Looking to continue their streak after winning on the road Thursday night, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Missouri Baptist University Spartans this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference clash inside the Petty Student Resources Center. CBC (7-17, 6-12 AMC) led for the majority of the game, carrying a six-point lead into halftime before defeating MBU (11-16, 9-9 AMC) 70-62.

Olivia Lambrigtsen led three Lady Mustangs in double figures with 22 points while Caroline Citty chipped in with 13 and Aliya Grotjohn added 11. Turnovers were the key to the game as CBC forced MBU into 27 miscues, which they turned into 26 points while MBU only saw CBC turn the ball over 13 times for 7 points.

GAME FLOW

MBU led 47 seconds into the game before a layup by Grotjohn with 8:57 left in the first made it 2-2.  A layup from Lambrigtsen made it 4-2 with 8:10 left and the Lady Mustangs would take a 17-14 lead into the second quarter. MBU went on a 9-5 run to open the quarter and retook the lead, 23-22 with 5:13 left before Rhys Anderson canned a three to put the Lady Mustangs back in front 25-23 with 4:52 left. CBC would hold the lead the rest of the quarter and Lambrigtsen would hit a three at the buzzer to give the Lady Mustangs a 33-27 lead at halftime.

Missouri Baptist opened the third quarter on an 8-2 run to tie the score at 35 with 8:30 left before back-to-back Lady Mustang buckets but CBC back on top 39-35. The buckets started a 13-1 run over 3:30 to put CBC ahead 48-36 with five to play in the third. CBC closed the quarter strong and took a 52-45 lead into the final quarter. In the fourth, CBC never let the lead get below four and answered every MBU basket, holding on for their second straight road win.
