Lady Mustangs Fall To Stars In Final Home Game

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Conway, Ark. – Playing for the final time inside A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse this season, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Stars of Stephens College this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference clash. CBC (5-17, 4-12 AMC) couldn't stop Stephens (19-6, 14-2 AMC) from three, falling 85-57 to the Stars.

Olivia Lambrigtsen had a career-high 26 in the game and was joined in double figures by Caroline Citty, who had 16 in her final game at Reddin. Lambrigtsen and Citty also placed themselves into the record books at the free throw line, where Lambrigtsen made 10 and Citty hit seven.

GAME FLOW

Rhys Anderson got the scoring started with a jump shot 1:13 into the contest and CBC was able to get out to an 8-5 lead with 5:58 left in the first. Unfortunately for the Lady Mustangs, a 6-0 Stephens run followed and the Stars led the rest of the way, leading 48-18 at the half before handing CBC their unfortunate final loss at home.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • Lambrigtsen joined Courtney Davidson, Aminata Seck, Britney Nealy, Hailey Bunch, Amber Garrett, Kayla Gardner, Aaliyah Block, Abbi Stearns and Citty as the only players with 10-or-more free throws made in a game
  • Citty crossed the 200 made free throw mark in her career and now has 203, joining Symone Jackson and Nealy as the only players in program history with 200-or-more made free throws
  • CBC is also on a record pace as a team at the free throw line. CBC is shooting 75 percent from the free throw line this season, which would best the previous record of 71 percent set by the 2006-07 team
