Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Playing on the road for the third consecutive game, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Eagles of Williams Baptist tonight in an American Midwest Conference clash inside the Southerland-Mabee Center. GAME FLOW
Citty scored the first basket of the game and from there, the quarter went back and forth, seeing a couple of ties but no lead changes to see CBC down 28-24 after one. The Eagles opened the second quarter on an 8-0 run, but CBC fought back, chipping the deficit back down to six, 36-30, with 6:38 before halftime. Another mini Eagle run put the lead back to double digits before CBC rallied again and a free throw by Anderson with one minute left sent the game to halftime with CBC down 46-42.
WBU scored the first basket of the third quarter before CBC started a 10-3 run that gave them a 52-49 lead with 7:20 left in the quarter. The Lady Mustangs couldn't hold on, however, as WBU went on a 15-0 run and led 64-52 with 4:03 left in the third. The deficit would only get below double figures one more time the rest of the game and the Lady Mustangs dropped the season series.
