St. Louis, Mo. – Looking for their second consecutive season sweep, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference tilt inside the Emerson Performance Center. CBC (5-14, 4-9 AMC) never trailed, taking a 40-30 lead into the halftime locker room before winning 67-52 over HSSU (3-18, 1-12 AMC).

Caroline Citty led all scorers with 20 points while Rhys Anderson chipped in with 15 and Olivia Lambrigtsen added 14. CBC dominated from start to finish, only turning the ball over seven times while outrebounding the Hornets 35-22.

GAME FLOW

Aliya Grotjohn opened the scoring with a three 11 seconds in and a three from Anderson with 8:33 left helped CBC start 6-0 in front. The lead dwindled to two with 5:34 left in the quarter, but CBC closed on a 10-2 run and led 21-11 after one. CBC kept the lead in double figures for the entire second quarter, seeing it balloon to its largest margin, 19 points, with 3:55 left in the quarter. The lead got down to five, 40-35, early in the third before a 6-0 run stretched it back to 11. Another run saw the lead cut to four with 2:04 left in the third, but four free throws and a pair of jump shots helped push the lead back to 54-42 at the end of three. The lead never got below 10 for the rest of the game as CBC finished the season sweep of Harris-Stowe.
