#MustangsWin! CBC Leads Wire-To-Wire In Dominant Win Over Harris-Stowe!

            Conway, Ark. – Wrapping up their three-game American Midwest Conference homestand this week, Central Baptist College women's basketball hosted the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State this afternoon on homecoming in A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (3-7, 2-3 AMC) never trailed, scoring 43 seconds into the game and cruised to a 72-46 win over HSSU (3-7, 1-3 AMC).

            Olivia Lambrigtsen led four Mustangs in double figures, which included Aliya Grotjohn, Lydia York and Caroline Citty. The Lady Mustangs were plus-eight on the glass and forced 19 HSSU turnovers which they converted into 25 points.

GAME FLOW

            York gave CBC a 3-0 lead 43 seconds into the game and the Lady Mustangs set sail from there, leading 21-12 after a quarter. The lead got all the way to 21 with 3:53 left in the second and CBC would take a 42-23 lead into halftime. Lambrigtsen made the first three field goals of the third quarter, sandwiched around two free throws from York, and CBC pushed the lead to 61-36 at the end of three. The lead reached its co-largest margin of the game, 26 points, with 8:09 left and the scoring would finish 6-6 the rest of the way.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • Lambrigtsen had 16 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds
  • Grotjohn posted a career-high 15 off the bench
  • York added 13 points in her second start this season
  • Citty scored 11 and was the co-leader with Rhys Anderson in assists with five
  • CBC won for the eighth time in 15 meetings with the Hornets and this was the largest margin of victory in those wins. The previous high had been 11.
  • CBC outrebounded HSSU 41-30 and outscored them 30-6 from beyond the arc

            The Lady Mustangs head back to the road for their next game, an AMC tilt with UHSP next Thursday. Tipoff from St. Louis is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
