Nevada, Mo. – Opening the 2024 calendar year on the road, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Comets of Cottey College this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference contest at Hinkhouse Gymnasium. CBC (1-6, 0-2 AMC) trailed at halftime and couldn't recover in the second half, falling 52-41 to CC (8-5, 1-2 AMC).
Caroline Citty and Olivia Lambrigtsen were the co-leading scorers with nine points each while those two and Tamara Christmas all led the way in rebounding with five each. The game was won at the free throw line, where the Lady Mustangs were minue-eight, making six free throws in eight attempts compared to Cottey's 14 makes in 16 attempts.
CBC returns to A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse on Tuesday night for an AMC rivalry matchup with the Eagles of Williams Baptist. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
