Women's Basketball Welcomes Four For 2023-24

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Conway, Ark. – Central Baptist College women's basketball coach Lyle Middleton has announced his 2023-24 recruiting class. The class includes one true freshman and three transfers.

The four players in the class are Aliya Grotjohn, Marina Crespi, Taryanna McNary and Mallory Malone. Grotjohn is a transfer from Cottey that joined the team last Spring, but did not play after transferring. Crespi, another transfer from Mallorca, Spain, played last year at the University of Maine-Presque Isle, an NCAA Division III school in Presque Isle, Maine. McNary transfers in from Coastal Bend College in Texas where she played in 28 games and averaged 6.3 points and a team-best 8.1 rebounds a game. Malone, an in-town product from Conway Christian, played on an Eagles squad last year that went to the 2A state championship game. Join us in welcoming these four to the Mustang family.

"We have close to the same team as last year with a few great additions," said Middleton. "Taryanna adds some height to the team while still being dominant on the outside of the paint. Marina and Aliya fit in nicely with our guards and add more depth to our outside game. Mallory will be a valuable asset to our forwards with her dominant play around the basket once we get her back healthy from an unfortunate injury."

The season begins for women's basketball on Nov. 2 when they welcome Champion Christian to Reddin Fieldhouse. Tip-off that night will be following the volleyball match.
