Batesville, Ark. – Returning to the court for the first time since Dec. 17, Central Baptist College women's basketball was on the floor at Becknell Gymnasium for an American Midwest Conference tilt against the Scots of Lyon College. CBC (7-5, 2-5 AMC) led by nine after a quarter but struggled in the second half, falling 77-60 to LC (5-6, 4-3 AMC).
Olivia Lambrigtsen and Diana Rivera both finished in double figures scoring, with Lambrigtsen posted a season-high 20 points and Rivera scoring 10 of her own. Turnovers were the difference in the contest as CBC committed 17 and only forced Lyon into 10.
GAME FLOW
CBC opened the game by scoring the first seven points, and held the lead the entire first quarter, leading 25-16 after one. The offense stalled in the second quarter, scoring only five points and the teams went into the locker room tied at 30.
The third quarter swung the momentum to Lyon, as the Scots outscored CBC 29-11 in the quarter on the strength of six three pointers and 55 percent shooting from the field. CBC never got the deficit below double figures again and saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.
