#MustangsWin! CBC Crashes The Glass To Sweep Baptist Bible

            Conway, Ark. – Playing out of the American Midwest Conference for the final time this season, Central Baptist College women's basketball hosted the Pioneers of Baptist Bible College this afternoon at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (5-4) used a +21-rebounding advantage and a 16-5 edge in second chance points to finish a season sweep of BBC (4-9) by a score of 59-52.

            Caroline Citty was the lone Lady Mustang in double figures scoring with 14 points while Lydia York grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds. The Lady Mustangs dominated on the glass, outrebounding BBC 16-5 while outshooting them at the free throw line by a 12-5 margin.

GAME FLOW

            The Patriots came out of the gates quickly, racing to a 15-8 lead in the first 5:32. With 3:43 left in the first quarter, Caroline Citty made her first of three threes on the afternoon to make it 15-11 and start a quarter closing 13-3 run that saw the Lady Mustangs lead 21-18 after one. CBC would never trail again, allowing BBC to get within one twice in the second quarter before stretching the lead out again, leading by nine at the half, five at the end of three and seven at the end of the game.

GAME NOTES

  • The Lady Mustangs continue to remain unbeaten against Baptist Bible, moving to 17-0 all-time against the Patriots
  • York's 14 rebounds were her first time ever in double-digits and beat her previous career high of four
  • CBC moved to 4-1 on the season when leading at halftime and 125-29 when leading at the half since 2009
  • CBC's 49 rebounds were a season-high as a team
