Conway, Ark. – Coming off their third straight trip to the American Midwest Conference tournament, Central Baptist College women's basketball tips off the 2022-23 season tomorrow evening in Springfield, Mo., against the Baptist Bible College Patriots. Tip-off from W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse is slated for 6 p.m.

Last year, CBC went 15-16 and earned the #8 seed in the AMC tournament, beating Hannibal-LaGrange in the Opening Round before falling to top seed Columbia in the quarterfinals. Aminata Seck and Alexis Augustus earned all-conference honors from the AMC, with Seck earning Newcomer of the Year, First team and all-defensive team recognition and Augustus earning a spot on the third team.

Four returners are back this season in the form of Lydia York, Manuela Cruz, Caroline Citty and the lone senior on the roster, Diana Rivera. Citty is the leading returning scorer for the squad and York is the leading returning three-point shooter and Rivera led the team last season in assists per game.

Eight newcomers finish out the roster for women's basketball, including true freshman Emma Bates and transfers Kenzie Parker (who also plays soccer), Jenell Light, Olivia Lambrigtsen, Rhys Anderson, Kristan Hargrove, Tamara Christmas and Maele Van Houtert. Lambrigtsen is coming off a season where she was an All-NJCAA Region IV and All-Arrowhead Conference first-team selection at Kishwaukee College in Illinois last season.

The Lady Mustangs were picked to finish eighth in the AMC by the coaches. The home opener is Thursday night against Bacone with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
