Lady Mustangs Open Second Half of AMC Play at Williams Baptist

Conway, Ark. – Stepping back into American Midwest Conference play, Central Baptist College women's basketball heads to Walnut Ridge tomorrow night to start the second half of AMC play against the Eagles of Williams Baptist. Tipoff from the Southerland Mabee Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and links to coverage can be found on the web and on social media.
GAME NOTES
- CBC is 11-8 overall and 3-6 in the AMC
- WBU is 10-9 overall and 4-4 in the AMC
- WBU leads the all-time 24-4 and won the previous meeting this season, 78-68, in Conway, however, CBC won the most recent meeting in Walnut Ridge in last year's AMC tournament, 71-59
- Aminata Seck and Alexis Augustus are the two Mustangs in double figures scoring, averaging 16.8 and 14.3 points per game, respectively, while the team is averaging 68 points per game on 38 percent shooting from the field, 27 percent from three and 71 percent at the free throw line
- Seck is also the leading rebounder, averaging 10.4 of the team's 43.6 rebounds per game
- Diana Rivera is leading the team in assists per game at 2.9
- CBC is forcing 18.8 turnovers per game while committing 17.3 per game
- On defense the Lady Mustangs are holding teams to 59.1 points per game on 37 percent shooting from the field and 29 percent from three while opponents shoot 64 percent at the free throw line and grab 34.9 rebounds per game
- Taylor Freeman leads three Eagles in double figures scoring at 17.7 per game while the Eagles average 81.9 points per game on 45 percent shooting from the field, 31 percent from three and 66 percent at the free throw line
- Tasia Bland leads WBU in rebounds, grabbing 9.1 of the team's 38.8 rebounds per game
- Freeman is also the team leader in assists, averaging 4.4 per game
- The Eagles are committing 16.2 turnovers per game while forcing 19.2 per game
- Defensively, WBU is allowing 75.6 points per game on 38 percent shooting from the field and 32 percent from three while opponents shoot 70 percent at the free throw line and grab 42.2 rebounds per game
