Mustangs Draw With Owls

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Conway, Ark. – Looking to keep their current unbeaten streak alive, Central Baptist College men's soccer hosted the Owls of William Woods in an American Midwest Conference clash this afternoon at Centennial Soccer Complex. CBC (8-1-2, 1-0-1 AMC) trailed 1-0 at halftime, but got a goal early in the second half and fought to a 1-1 draw with WWU (1-5-3, 0-0-1 AMC).

Daniel Pinkney scored his 11th goal of the season in the 51st minute to tie the score at one after WWU scored just before the halftime buzzer. Joe McElhinney and Ian Gonzalez assisted on the goal and Jasper Gadellaa made four interventions to prevent a further goal from William Woods. The stats were very even, with CBC taking seven shots with four on goal while WWU had six shots and five on goal.

The Mustangs have a short break before stepping out of AMC play for the final time this season on Tuesday when they host Christian Brothers University. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
