Batesville, Ark. – Coming off a dramatic win on Saturday night in the American Midwest Conference quarterfinals, Central Baptist College men's soccer was at Huser Field today for an AMC semifinal match against Lyon. CBC (9-10-1) led at halftime, but crumbled in the second half, allowing six goals to fall 6-1 to the top-seeded Scots (13-4-1).
Nyasha Dube scored the lone goal on a penalty kick in the fifth minute and the Mustangs carried that lead into halftime. In the second half, Lyon tied the game quickly and then piled on, scoring six times including four in the final 20 minutes to cruise into the tournament finals. Andrew Montoya had nine saves, finishing his career in second all-time with 268. CBC also tied the 2017, 2014, and 2011 teams for the second most wins in a season since joining the NAIA. Congratulations on a fantastic season!
