Hannibal, Mo. – Playing on the road for the final time in the regular season, #18 Central Baptist College men's basketball took on the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange University today with a chance to clinch at least a top two seed in the American Midwest Conference tournament. #18 CBC (23-4, 16-1 AMC) took care of business, leading wire-to-wire in a 75-61 win over HLGU (11-12, 8-8 AMC).
Sage Borbon led the way with 22 points while Jonas Carlisle added 13, Brian Alexander scored 12 off the bench, and Gabe Johnson added 10. The Mustangs held the Trojans to just four-of-16 from three and outrebounded them 39-32 while capitalizing on points in the paint, winning that category 34-20.
MUSTANG NOTES
- 23 wins marks a new regular season high for CBC, breaking the previous record of 22 set last year
- Borbon is now just 16 points away from becoming the seventh player in program history to get to 1,000
- CBC is 19-1 all-time against HLGU and have won the last 16 meetings
- The Mustangs are 21-2 when leading at halftime this season
