Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

St. Louis, Mo. – Trying to move their win streak to its second longest total ever, Central Baptist College men's basketball took on the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference meeting in the Emerson Performance Center. CBC (20-4, 10-0 AMC) made history, leading by 10 at halftime before finishing HSSU (6-19, 3-8 AMC) 66-52.

Sage Borbon led the way in scoring with 17 while Jonas Carlisle added a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 13 rebounds. The Mustangs never trailed and held HSSU to 36 percent shooting from the field and 2-9 from three.

GAME FLOW

Borbon scored the first basket of the game 22 seconds in before Harris-Stowe tied it at 2 with 17:59 left. A layup from SaVaughn Smith followed by a Carlise three made it 7-2 with 17:18 left in the first half. The lead would reach 9-2 before a 7-0 run by HSSU tied the score at nine. The teams then traded baskets until a layup by Carlisle put CBC up 13-11 with 11:26 left in the half. That was the start of a 10-0 run by the Mustangs, who watched the lead grow to 18 in the second half before settling where it ended.
