#MustangsWin! CBC Dominates C of O To Sweep Through Baptist Bible Classic

            Springfield, Mo. – Wrapping up play in the Baptist Bible Classic this afternoon, Central Baptist College men's basketball took on the Bobcats of College of the Ozarks at W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse. CBC (5-2) led by 34 at one point in the second half and cruised to an 88-60 win over C of O (3-5).

            13 players scored in the game for the Mustangs including four in double figures. CBC was outrebounded 39-36 but forced 21 turnovers and shot 55 percent from the field.

GAME FLOW

            Jonas Carlisle opened the scoring 28 seconds in, before C of O took their only lead on a three-pointer with 19:12 left. Following a SaVaughn Smith jumper with 18:19 left to make it 4-3, CBC led the rest of the half, taking a 43-32 lead into halftime.

            In the second half, The Mustangs blitzed the Bobcats and opened the half by scoring the first 12 points of the half to make it a 23-point lead which got all the way out to 74-40 with 8:54 to play in the game before settling around 30 points before settling with the final.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • Wade Williams led all scorers with 17 points
  • Sage Borbon chipped in with 12
  • Devin Foster scored 11 points
  • Carlisle had 10
  • Christian White led the way in rebounds with seven
  • CBC scored a season-high 88 points and made a season-high 14 threes in the contest while only attempting 11 field goals

            The Mustangs head to the Texas side of Texarkana for their next game against Louisiana Christian on Friday afternoon. Tipoff from the Patterson Center is scheduled for 3 p.m.
