Preview: Mustangs Head to Nebraska For Heart AMC Classic

            Conway, Ark. – Coming off their first win of the season on Tuesday night, Central Baptist College men's basketball heads to Peru, Neb., this weekend for the Heart AMC Classic, hosted by Peru State College. The Mustangs will face the host school on Friday night at 8 p.m. followed by a rematch of last season's NAIA Opening Round game against Benedictine on Saturday with tipoff scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Wheeler Activities Center.

GAME NOTES

  • CBC is 1-4 on the season
  • PSC is 1-5 so far
  • BC is 5-1
  • Friday night's meeting will be the first ever between the Mustangs and the Bobcats, while Saturday's game against the Ravens will be the second meeting all-time
  • Kelvin Robinson leads the Mustangs in scoring, averaging 18 points per game
  • Jordan Parker is also in double-figures scoring, averaging 16.8 per contest
  • Mayan Kiir is averaging 16.2 points per game and leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 10.6 per contest
  • Robinson is also the leader in assists, handing out four per game
  • As a team, CBC is averaging 85 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the field, 38 percent from three and 60 percent at the free throw line while grabbing 43.2 rebounds per game and committing 17 turnovers per contest
  • Defensively, the Mustangs are allowing 82.4 points per game on 44 percent from the field and 34 percent from three while opponents shoot 71 percent at the free throw line, grab 36 rebounds and are forced into 12 turnovers
  • PSC has only their leading scorer, Jabril Harris, in double figures, averaging 14.8 per game and he also leads the team in rebounding, grabbing seven per contest
  • Skyler Wilson leads the team in assists, averaging 3.5 per game
  • The Bobcats average 77.2 points per game on 49 percent from the field, 41 percent from three and 67 percent at the free throw line, while they collect 33.8 rebounds per game and commit 13.8 turnovers per game
  • On defense, PSC is allowing 77.5 points on 49 percent from the field and 33 percent from three while opponents shoot 68 percent from the free throw line, grab 32.5 rebounds and are forced into 12 turnovers per game
  • Benedictine has three players scoring in double figures, led by Matt Austin at 16.7 per game
  • Saxton Thuston is the leading rebounder, grabbing six per game
  • Jaiden Bristol is the leader in assists, averaging an outstanding 6.8 per contest
  • BC averages 79.2 points per game on 52 percent shooting from the field, 41 percent from three and 71 percent at the charity stripe, grabbing 36.7 rebounds and committing only 9.3 turnovers per game
  • On defense, the Ravens are allowing 67 points per game on 43 percent from the field and 33 percent from three while opponents shoot 70 percent from the free throw line, grab just 29.7 rebounds and are forced into 10.5 turnovers per game
