Baseball Swept In Doubleheader By #20 Oklahoma City

Little Rock, Ark. – Playing for the first time this season at Gary Hogan Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, Central Baptist College baseball hosted a doubleheader this afternoon against #20 Oklahoma City University. CBC (5-5) only scored five runs in the doubleheader and allowed 17 in a sweep by OCU (13-1) by scores of 10-1 and 7-4.
Andrew Killough started game one and was charged with eight runs on nine hits with three walks and four Ks. Garon Johnson started game two and allowed 11 hits and five runs with three Ks.
GAME ONE - #20 OCU 10, CBC 1 (SEVEN INNINGS)
Oklahoma City scored all of their runs in bunches, plating three in the second, five in the fifth and two in the sixth. CBC's lone run came in the bottom of the sixth when Jay French tripled with one out and scored on a groundout by Steven Stewart. Killough last four and two-thirds, earning the loss while Ben Slate pitched in relief and allowed two runs on three hits with a strikeout in the final two and a third. French had a pair of hits in the contest while Ruben Hernandez and Luke McBride also tallied single base hits.
GAME TWO - #20 OCU 7, CBC 4 (SEVEN INNINGS)
After a scoreless first inning, OCU scored first again, pushing two runs across in the top of the second to lead 2-0. CBC would take the lead in the bottom half thanks to a two run double from Austin Teal and a sac fly by Luke McBride to make it 3-2. CBC would hold the lead in the third, but the Stars offense struck in the next three innings with home runs to stretch the lead to 7-3. CBC had an opportunity to tie the game in the seventh after drama to open the inning. Easton Reichard led off with a pinch hit single and Luke McBride walked to put runners on first and second with on one out. Back-to-back fielder's choices would make it 7-4 and Stewart would walk with two outs to put a couple men on, but CBC failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Johnson got the loss in 4.1 innings of work and was relieved by Slayton Holland and Jackson Lindsey. Holland allowed two runs on two hits in an inning while Lindsey threw 1.2 perfect innings and struck out two.
