Bio
Halee Hensley began her tenure at CBC on March 18, 2024.
Year two saw the Mustangs go 10-24 overall and 8-10 in the AMC, earning the five seed and making history by winning over Mission in the quarterfinals for their first AMC Tournament win in program history. For the second straight season, CBC broke the single season serve percentage record while Ava White set a new individual service percentage record. Avary Smith earned first team honors from the AMC while Madeline Freeman garnered second team honors and White earned a spot on the honorable mention team. Additionally, Freeman and Aubree Ruggles earned All-Tournament team selections with Freeman, Caroline Reams, Robynn Lucas, Lakyn Johnson, Kate Scroggins and Hayleigh Work all earning All-Academic Team honors from the AMC. Freeman and Johnson were also selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team while those two plus Reams, Work and Lucas all earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors.
In her first season in 2024, Hensley guided the Mustangs to a 7-14 overall record and 5-6 in the AMC with CBC earning the eight seed in the AMC Tournament. Freeman earned first team honors from the AMC while Ruggles earned an honorable mention selection. Freeman was also selected to the All-Tournament Team and was additionally one of seven players that earned an All-Academic Team nod along with Lily Brister, Caroline Reams, Sheridan Rogers, Brooke Schmitz, Faith Stone and Kailee Walker. Brister, Rogers, Walker and Freeman all earned CSC Academic All-District selections as well and Schmitz, Reams, Walker, Brister, Freeman and Rogers were all named NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athletes.
Coach Hensley came to CBC after three seasons at Mississippi University for Women, an NCAA Division III school in Columbus, Miss. She had 17 wins while there and coached two USCAA All-Americans and 19 USCAA Scholar Athletes and also coached 19 All-SLIAC All-Academic Team honorees this past season.
Prior to her arrival in Mississippi, Hensley spent two seasons as the head volleyball coach at Hannibal-LaGrange. She won 11 games while there and had three All-AMC selections and 12 AMC All-Academic Team selections.
Her coaching career began at CBC in 2017 when she served as a student assistant before moving on to Hendrix for the 2018 season where she was a volunteer assistant. She graduated in 2017 from CBC with her degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Science.
