Volleyball Swept By Hornets

            Conway, Ark. – Opening American Midwest Conference play this afternoon at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse, Central Baptist College volleyball hosted the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets. CBC (1-8, 0-1 AMC) kept it close, but couldn't break through against HSSU (4-5, 2-0 AMC), falling by scores of 26-28, 18-25 and 23-25.

            Aubree Ruggles led the way in kills with 12 while Adalyn Dura led with 15 assists and Avary Smith paced the team in digs with 13. Madeline Freeman posted another double-double with 11 assists and 10 digs and Kate Scroggins also finished with double figures in digs, posting 11 on the afternoon. CBC had 37 kills, hit .089 and had one ace with four total blocks compared to HSSU, which had 40 kills, hit .161 and had four aces and eight total blocks.

            The Mustangs return home on Tuesday afternoon for a tri-match against Evangel and Arkansas-Monticello. First serve between CBC and the Valor is scheduled for 4 p.m.
