Mustangs Drop Two At Viking Invitational

Marshall, Mo. – Playing on the road for the first time this season, Central Baptist College volleyball took on Missouri Valley College and Grand View University today on the first day of the Viking Invitational. CBC (0-3) was defeated in straight sets in both matches, falling 23-25, 20-25 and 15-25 to MVC (2-4) and 8-25, 14-25, and 18-25 to GVU (6-0).

MATCH ONE – MVC 3, CBC 0

            Aubree Ruggles and Avary Smith both had a team high eight kills while Adalyn Dura had 16 assists and Ava White led with 19 digs. CBC had 32 kills and hit .125 to go with their three aces and four total blocks.

MATCH TWO – GVU 3, CBC 0

            Ruggles led the way again with seven kills while Dura had 10 assists and Yasmine De La Garza had five digs. CBC had 22 kills and hit .014 to go with four aces and six blocks.

UP NEXT

            CBC is back for two more matches tomorrow at the Viking Invitational. The Mustangs will take on Central Methodist at 9 a.m., followed by a match with former American Midwest Conference rival William Woods at 4:30.
