Volleyball Drops Contest To Crowley's Ridge

Paragould, Ark. – Playing outside the American Midwest Conference for the final time this season, Central Baptist College volleyball took on the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge College tonight at the Carter Activities Center. CBC (3-13) kept it close all night long but weren't able to outscore CRC (4-17), falling in four sets by scores of 21-25, 28-26, 23-25 and 23-25.
Madeline Freeman posted another triple-double, her second in three matches, posting 17 kills, 28 assists and 21 digs, the assists and digs of which were both season highs. Kylah Shumate led the team in digs with 23 and, along with Freeman, Mallory Gossett and Sheridan Rogers, all had 20 or more digs.
MATCH NOTES
- Freeman's 17 kills were one off her season high, but this was her best statistical triple-double
- Shumate's dig total was a career-high for her
- Gossett posted her second 20-dig match of the season
- Rogers had a career-high 21 digs, besting her previous high by nine
- Kenzie Hanks also finished in double-digits in kills with 12
- Mikayla Lawrence had 18 digs and moved into third place on the all-time list with 951
- The 56 kills were the third-highest total of the season and the 56 assists were also the third-highest total
- The Mustangs had 126 digs in the match, tied for the fourth most in a single match in program history and the first 100-plus match this season
- Kailee Walker had 17 assists and 13 digs for her first double-double of the season and second of her career

The Mustangs are off for a week before they return to AMC contests against Williams Baptist next Thursday. First serve from Walnut Ridge is scheduled for 6 p.m.
