CBC Has Big Day in Loss To Cottey

Conway, Ark. – Playing their third straight match inside the friendly confines of A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse, Central Baptist College volleyball hosted Cottey this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference tilt. CBC (2-11, 0-3 AMC) took Cottey (10-10, 2-2 AMC) to five sets, but lost 3-2 by scores of 24-26, 25-20, 22-25, 26-24, and 13-15.
Molly Murphy had a huge day, setting a new single match record for assists with 59 while also recording 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. Four Mustangs had double-figures in kills, led by Madeline Freeman with 17. Kenzie Hanks also had 16 kills while Kylah Shumate and Jaylin Rhoades both posted season highs in kills with 15 & 10 respectively. Freeman also recorded her eighth double-double of the season, finishing with a season-high 19 digs. Mikayla Lawrence and Mallory Gossett also finished with double figures in digs with 24 each. CBC finished with 68 kills, the second most in a match ever and also had 65 assists total, the third most all-time.
CBC is off until Friday when they head to St. Louis for an AMC tilt against UHSP. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
