Volleyball Drops Contest To William Woods

            Conway, Ark. – Hosting an American Midwest Conference opponent for the second Friday in a row, Central Baptist College volleyball welcomed the Owls of William Woods into A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse tonight. CBC (2-10, 0-2 AMC) started slow, but finished strong despite being swept by WWU (5-11, 2-1 AMC) by scores of 25-11, 25-22 and 25-20.

            Madeline Freeman led the way with 11 of CBC's total 31 kills on the night. Molly Murphy led in assists with 27 and Mallory Gossett paced the team in digs with 14. Mikayla Lawrence also had double-figures in digs on the evening with 13. The difference in the match was hitting and blocking, as WWU hit .248 on the night and had nine total blocks while the Mustangs hit just .056 and had two total blocks.

            CBC has a short turnaround before their next match, as they welcome the Comets of Cottey College into Reddin Fieldhouse for a conference tilt tomorrow. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
