Mustangs' Season Ends in AMC Quarterfinals

            St. Louis, Mo. – Looking to win their first match ever in the American Midwest Conference tournament, Central Baptist College women's soccer took on the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State this afternoon at Hornet's Field. CBC (6-10-2) had an early lead, went into the locker room tied, but allowed three second half goals to see their season end against HSSU (12-4-1) 4-1.

            Vitoria Loiola netted the unassisted goal in the 27th minute to give CBC an early lead, her third goal of the season. Harris-Stowe would tie the match at one in the 39th minute and add second half goals in the 50th, 59th and 62nd minutes to send the Mustangs home.

SEASON NOTES

  • CBC finishes with six wins, the most in a season since they went 7-9 in 2014
  • Ashley Hultquist and Bayleigh Williams both broke the previous record for matches played (64) with Hultquist playing in 78 in her career and Williams playing in 66
  • CBC finished with exactly 21 goals scored for the third time in the last five seasons
  • The Mustangs were 2-0 when they scored three goals or more, but 0-8 when they allowed three or more
  • Amanda Parreiras finished the season with seven goals, tying her for ninth most in program history
  • Loiola finished the season with a program-single-season record tying eight assists, matching the number by Tarra Hendricks in 2014
  • Parreiras also finished with 16 points, tying her for 10th most in a season and the most since Marcela Bueno in 2018
  • Parreiras' seven goals were the most since Kady Johnson's nine in 2016
