#MustangsWin! Second Half Charge Pushes Mustangs Past Eutectics

            Conway, Ark. – Opening the American Midwest Conference portion of their schedule today, Central Baptist College women's soccer hosted the Eutectics of the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis. CBC (4-5-1, 1-0 AMC) was drawing with UHSP (0-3, 0-2 AMC) 0-0 at halftime, before surrendering a second half goal and then coming back to win 2-1.

            Kenzie Parker and Vitoria Loiola were the goal scorers while Loiola, Parker and Erica Hawkins all had assists. Jayme Selph was brilliant in goal again, stopping a pair of Eutectic attempts.

MATCH NOTES

  • The win improved CBC's record against UHSP to 6-0-2 all-time and CBC has three consecutive one-goal wins
  • Parker's goal and assists were both her first in a Mustang uniform
  • Loiola notched her second goal of the season to go along with five assists
  • Hawkins registered assist number three of the season
  • The score was 0-0 until UHSP broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute
  • Parker's goal tied the score at one in the 75th minute
  • Loiola's goal in the 83rd ended up being the winner

            The Mustangs have a week off before their next contest, which is another AMC tilt against the Owls of William Woods on Oct. 1 in Conway. Kickoff is slated for noon.
