Moore, Okla. – Playing in their third straight road contest to start the season, Central Baptist College women's soccer was on the road today for a contest against the Saints of Randall University. CBC (1-1-1) scored three times and held off a late charge from RU (0-1) to earn their first win by a final of 3-2.
Samara Hernandez had a brace once again while Erica Hawkins chipped in with her first goal of the season, which put CBC ahead, 1-0, in the 34th minute. Ashley Hultquist assisted on Hawkins' goal while Vitoria Loiola, who scored in the opener, assisted Hernandez on her first goal, which made the score 2-0 in the 37th minute. The second goal by Hernandez was unassisted.
Next up for the Mustangs is the home opener on Fri., Sept. 2, against the Eagles of Texas A&M-Texarkana. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Centennial Soccer Park.
