Branson, Mo. – Looking to continue their hot start to the American Midwest Conference tournament, Central Baptist College softball looked to advance to the AMC Championship game for the fifth time. CBC (29-23) lost the first game of the day to Columbia (25-13) 6-0 before watching their season come to an end later in the day against Cottey (36-10) 11-4.

GAME ONE – COLUMBIA 6, CBC 0

The Cougars scored a run in the first inning and five in the fifth for their total. CBC got two hits from Kassidy Oberan and a hit each from Taviah Bradley, Taylyn Shuffield, Eden East and Kinley Johnson for all of their hits.

GAME TWO – COTTEY 11, CBC 4

The Comets plated two runs in the first inning, one in the second, one in the third and three in the fourth to lead 7-0 after three-and-a-half innings. All four of the Mustang runs came in the bottom of the fourth on a Johnson double and singles by Elizabeth Stoufer, Oberan and Casi Saunders. Cottey added their last four runs of the game in the seventh to end CBC's season short of reaching the regionals for a second straight season.
