Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Branson, Mo. – Opening play as the number four seed in the American Midwest Conference tournament, Central Baptist College softball took on Mission today at the Branson Rec Plex. CBC (28-21) got off to a hot start and never relented, run-ruling the Patriots (25-18) 8-0 in five innings.

Taviah Bradley led off the game with a home run, her fourth of the season, and CBC led, 1-0, four pitches into the game. After a scoreless second, the Mustangs plated six runs in the third inning to take a 7-0 lead after an error that scored three runs, a single by Elizabeth Stoufer and a single by Sydney Weiser. The final run crossed the plate in the fourth when Eden East singled to put the run rule into effect. Ryleigh Keele earned her 14th win with a complete game three-hit shutout, striking out five.

CBC will face the regular season champions Williams Baptist in the winner's bracket tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
