Seven Mustangs Earn AMC Honors

Branson, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference announced their season awards at the softball banquet to open the AMC Tournament. Seven Mustangs earned honors for their outstanding work on the field during the season.
Kinley Johnson, Ryleigh Keele and Taviah Bradley all earned first team honors. Johnson batted .408 and had an OPS of 1.083 in 49 games this season, earning first team honors for the second straight season. She scored 17 runs, had 10 doubles and led the team in both home runs with seven and runs batted in with 40. Keele was fantastic in the circle all season long. She posted a record of 13-7 in 20 appearances with 86 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.59 in 111 innings. Bradley batted .335 in 49 games this season. She led the team in runs scored with 45 and doubles with 22 while also hitting a pair of triples, three home runs and 27 RBIs with 11 stolen bases.
Kori Truelove, Lauren Woodard and Taylyn Shuffield earned second team selections. Truelove batted .351 with an .888 OPS in 37 games this season. She added 25 runs scored, 12 doubles, a triple, and 26 RBIs. Woodard went 9-5 in 19 appearances and 12 starts this season. She struck out 39 in 88 innings and had a 3.26 ERA. Shuffield batted .296 and posted a .425 on-base percentage in 49 games. She added 21 runs scored, 10 doubles, three triples and 22 RBIs and was also named the Champion of Character.
Elizabeth Stoufer earned a third team selection. She batted .303 with 32 runs scored, six doubles, a team-best four triples, a home run and 17 RBIs with a team-best 12 steals in 49 games. Stoufer, Bradley and Shuffield also won gold gloves in centerfield, third base and right field, respectively. It is the second gold glove for both Stoufer and Bradley and the first for Shuffield.
The softball Mustangs open play in the AMC Tournament tomorrow at 2 p.m. against Mission at the Branson Rec Plex.
