Nevada, Mo. – Playing their final American Midwest Conference road doubleheader of the season, Central Baptist College softball took on the Cottey Comets today at Vanek Family Field. CBC (26-18, 11-5 AMC) got swept by Cottey (30-7, 13-1 AMC), falling 2-0 and 7-2.
GAME ONE – COTTEY 2, CBC 0
Cottey scored a run in the first and a run in the sixth for all the scoring. CBC outhit Cottey 8-7 and got multi hit games from Kinley Johnson and Karlee Broadway.
GAME TWO – COTTEY 7, CBC 2
Cottey took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and added another in the fourth inning to make the deficit 4-0. Both CBC runs scored in the fifth on a Karlee Broadway single and a Taviah Bradley groundout to make the score 4-2. The final three runs for the Comets in the fifth brought the score final.
UP NEXT
CBC steps out of conference play for the final time on Tuesday when they take on Division II Christian Brothers in Memphis. First pitch from Bland Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
