Columbia, Mo. – Heading out on an American Midwest Conference road trip for the final time this season, Central Baptist College softball took on the Columbia Cougars today at the Antimi Softball Complex. CBC (26-16, 11-3 AMC) split the doubleheader with CC (21-13, 11-5 AMC), dropping game one 5-0 before winning game two 4-1.

GAME ONE – COLUMBIA 5, CBC 0

Columbia scored two in the first, one in the third and two in the fourth for all of their scoring. CBC got hits from Kinley Johnson, Elizabeth Stoufer and Kassidy Oberan and two-and-one-third scoreless relief innings from Melanie Phillips.

GAME TWO – CBC 4, COLUMBIA 1

CBC took an early lead in game two when Johnson drove in Taviah Bradley, who led off the game with a double, to make it 1-0 in the first. An error and another Bradley double in the second inning tripled CBC's lead to 3-0 before Columbia cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom half. In the fifth, Johnson singled home her second run of the game to make it 4-1 and back a terrific outing by Lauren Woodard.
