#MustangsWin! CBC Downs Williams Baptist In First Round of AMC Tournament!

Conway, Ark. – Opening play in the American Midwest Conference tournament today, Central Baptist College softball, the #5 seed, took on the #4 seed Williams Baptist Eagles at City of Colleges Park. CBC (28-23) scored in the second and fourth innings and held WBU (32-13) down in clutch situations, scratching out a 3-1 win to advance in the winner's bracket.
Taviah Bradley, Elizabeth Stoufer and Abi West all had multi-hit games. Alex Jeter and Isabella Sawyers combined to shut down the Eagles offense.
GAME SUMMARY
The Mustangs went ahead in the second inning on West's two-run blast to right field to make it 2-0, her seventh of the season. WBU cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second before Baylie Ainsworth dropped down a perfect sacrifice bunt to chase home an insurance run in the fourth. Jeter earned her 14th win, allowing eight hits and one run with one walk. Sawyers picked up her second save, allowing just one hit and one walk in two relief innings.
