Mustangs Drop Doubleheader To Tigers

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Arkadelphia, Ark. – Playing an NCAA opponent for the second straight Tuesday, Central Baptist College softball was at Langston Field this afternoon for a doubleheader against the Ouachita Baptist Tigers. CBC (10-14) fought back in game one only to lose 8-3 and the hung with OBU (7-22) for seven-and-one-third before falling 3-2.

GAME ONE – OBU 8, CBC 3

The Tigers jumped on top early, plating two in the second to make it 2-0. They added a run in the third to make it 3-0 and the deficit would stay that way until the top of the fifth, when Lauren Anderson clubbed a three-run home run to tie the game at three. The Mustangs couldn't hold OBU, however, allowing five in the sixth to take the score to its final margin.

GAME TWO – OBU 3, CBC 2 (EIGHT INNINGS)

CBC took the lead early in game two, thanks to an RBI groundout by Kori Truelove to make it 1-0. Madeline Bruce added a sac fly in the fifth to make it 2-0 and starter Alex Jeter made it stand until the sixth, when she surrendered a two-run home run to tie the score at two. In extra innings, OBU walked off on a bunt.
