Texarkana, Texas – After playing at home yesterday, Central Baptist College softball was at Bramlett Field this afternoon for a doubleheader with the Eagles of Texas A&M-Texarkana. CBC (7-3) split the doubleheader, losing game one to TAMUT (3-4) 10-8 before winning game two 7-5.
GAME ONE – TEXAS A&M-TEXARKANA 10, CBC 8
The majority of the Eagle runs came in the first two innings as TAMUT scored seven in the first and one in the second to lead 8-1 after two. CBC got single runs in the second and third and two in the fourth to make it 8-4 before the Eagles scored single tallies in the fifth and sixth to make it 10-4. CBC would plate four in the seventh, but their rally stopped before they could get anymore. Ysabella Esquivel had three hits and scored twice while CBC got extra base hits from Esquivel and Lauren Anderson, who both doubled, and Abi West and Kori Truelove, who both tripled.
GAME TWO – CBC 7, TEXAS A&M-TEXARKANA 5
CBC jumped first in game two, plating two in the second to take a 2-0 lead. The Eagles responded with a four-run bottom half to take a 4-2 lead, but the Mustangs did not go away, plating a run in the third to trail 4-3 before taking the lead with four in the fourth to make it 7-4. TAMUT got a single run in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn't push anymore across in the inning. Anderson had three runs and a run scored while Esquivel had a couple of RBIs and the only extra base hit for CBC, a double.

CBC returns to City of Colleges Park for a doubleheader on Friday afternoon against the Valor of Evangel University. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
