Softball Splits Series in Texas

            Fort Worth, Texas – Moving their location from Alexandria, La., Central Baptist College softball was at Sycamore Park the last two days for a tournament at Texas Wesleyan. The Mustangs took on the Rams of Texas Wesleyan once yesterday and twice today and took on the Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan in the second game yesterday. CBC (4-2) dropped two of three to Texas Wesleyan (2-2), losing 3-2 on Thursday and 4-0 in game one today before winning the finale 8-4. CBC won the game with Kansas Wesleyan yesterday 7-4.

            Jordyn Frederic led the way at the plate for CBC, batting .600 with a home run, three runs scored and six hits, including hitting safely in every game. CBC also got home runs from Kori Truelove in the finale against Texas Wesleyan today and got one from Abi West to go with Frederic's in the win over Kansas Wesleyan yesterday.

            Hannah Work and Alex Jeter both had a win and a loss in the series, with Work pitching the bookend games and Jeter starting the two in the middle. In 13 innings for Work, she allowed seven runs (four earned) with three walks and two strikeouts while Jeter allowed six runs in 12 and one third, striking out five and walking only one.

            CBC will be at home for the first time this season on Friday afternoon when they host the Dallas Christian Crusaders for a doubleheader at City of Colleges Park. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
