#MustangsWin! Softball Runs Winning Streak To Eight Straight With Sweep of Crowley's Ridge

            Conway, Ark. – Playing at City of Colleges Park for the final time this season, Central Baptist College softball hosted the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge College. CBC (32-16) pushed their winning streak to eight in a row by sweeping CRC (18-14) by scores of 19-2 and 12-1.

GAME ONE – CBC 19, CRC 2 (FIVE INNINGS)

            CBC scored in every inning, putting up four runs in each of the first three innings and seven runs in the fourth. Allison Wagle started the scoring with a groundout to shortstop to make it 1-0, followed by a triple by Kori Truelove and a two-run single by Maddie Thompson. In the second, Madeline Bruce hit a solo home run, her first as a Mustang, to make it 5-0, followed later in the inning by a sac fly by Truelove and two runs scoring on an odd fielding play. In the third, Ysabella Esquivel made it 9-0 with a sac fly and Katie Smith cleared the bases with a three-run blast, her second of the year, to make it 12-0 after three. Aubrey Jackson drove in a pair in the sixth to make it 14-0 and a single by Sydney Weiser made it 15-0. A grand slam by Wagle capped the scoring for the Mustangs and CRC scored two in the top of the fifth. Emily Cole threw a complete game and allowed two runs on seven hits with four Ks to pick up her fourth win of the season.

GAME TWO – CBC 12, CRC 1 (FIVE INNINGS)

            CRC got on the board first in the second game, plating a run in the first to lead 1-0. A Kori Truelove groundout in the bottom of the first tied the game at one, and CBC would take a 3-1 lead in the second on the first home run of the season by Caroline Byers. The Mustangs would put the game away in the third, plating runs on a double by Truelove, a two-run single by Madalyn Tubbs and a two-run blast by Jordyn Frederic, her first to make it 8-1 after three. CBC wrapped up the scoring in the fourth on a two-run single by Truelove, an RBI single by Byers and a groundout by Frederic. Alex Jeter threw a complete game, scattering four hits and allowing one run with a walk and three strikeouts.

            CBC wraps up their regular season tomorrow in Arkadelphia against Ouachita Baptist. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
