Anderson Named AMC Softball Player of the Week

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

St. Louis, Mo. – For the second consecutive week, Central Baptist College softball has the American Midwest Conference Athlete of the Week. Junior first baseman Lauren Anderson earned recognition this week after a huge week offensively. She joins teammate Allison Wagle as the Mustangs that have earned player of the week selections this year.

Anderson played in eight games this week and batted .458 (11-24) with seven runs scored, two doubles, four home runs and 12 RBIs. She homered in three straight games against UHSP and Harris-Stowe and capped off the week with a three-run blast in Sunday's run rule win over Hannibal-LaGrange. This is Lauren's second athlete of the week award after she also earned one last season.

Anderson and the Mustangs are back at City of Colleges Park tomorrow for a non-conference doubleheader against Arkansas Baptist beginning at 11 a.m.
