Alexandria, La. – Playing on the road in a tournament for the second weekend in a row, Central Baptist College softball was at Generals Field today for the first day of the LSU-Alexandria Generals Showdown. CBC (2-5) dropped both contests, falling 7-1 to #5 Freed-Hardeman (1-0) in game one before losing 3-0 to #14 William Carey (1-0) in game two.
GAME ONE - #5 FHU 7, CBC 1
Starter Hannah Work kept FHU off the scoreboard for the first two inning before the Lady Lions struck for four in the third. FHU would add two more in the fifth and one in the sixth before a home run from Allison Wagle, her second of the season, made it 7-1 in the sixth. Work picked up the loss, pitching the first four-and-two-thirds innings and allowed six runs on eight hits with a walk and three Ks. Averie Ayers pitched the final two-and-a-third, allowing an unearned run with a walk and two Ks.
GAME TWO - #14 WCU 3, CBC 0

Alex Jeter threw a complete game and allowed eight hits and three runs (two earned) with three strikeouts in the loss.
