Mat Mustangs Split Tri-Dual In Walnut Ridge

            Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Wrestling in state for the second consecutive week, Central Baptist College wrestling was on the mat tonight at the Southerland Mabee Center for a tri-dual against McMurry and Williams Baptist. CBC split the matches, beating McMurry 34-16 before dropping the WBU dual 43-10.

            CBC posted six wins in the McMurry match, four by forfeit and two by technical fall. Alex Lopez won by a 16-1 tech fall in 1:53 at 149 pounds while Brayden Holley won 16-0 in 6:35 at heavyweight. In the Williams Baptist match, Gabriel Martinez got a forfeit at 133 pounds while Lopez won again in a 9-1 major decision at 149.

            The Mustangs are back on the mat next weekend when they head to Marshall, Mo., for the Missouri Valley Open.
