Pair of Mustangs Place at Cumberland Open

Lebanon, Tenn. – Competing for the final time in an open meet this season, Central Baptist College wrestling was on the mat at Dallas Green Phoenix Arena today for the Cumberland Open. CBC saw two wrestlers finish in placement spots with David Corretjer placing third at 125 pounds and Darron Harvey finishing second at 285 pounds.
Corretjer won three matches on the day, beating Alexander Grabowski by fall at the 5:33 mark, beating Lochlann Higgins by fall at the 4:50 mark and defeating Grabowski again in the third place match by a 10-5 decision. Harvey won three matches, first over Wade Humphrey by fall at the 1:58 mark, second by decision over Dylan Galloway 7-3 and third by Beau Stokes by fall at the 8:49 mark before falling by a 3-0 decision in the championship match. Javon Cooper lost both of his matches at 133 pounds. Isaiah Hendrix won by major decision 18-10 at 141 pounds in his second match. Alejandro Mas won his opening match by fall at the 3:54 mark and won his third match by a 4-2 decision, losing in match two and four all at 149 pounds. Christian Richer won his second match at 165 pounds by fall at the 3:40 mark, losing matches one and three. Joshua King won twice at 174 pounds, by fall in match two at 1:17 and by fall in match three at 1:58. Gregory Pierre-Louis lost both of his matches at 197 pounds and Antwon Singleton also wrestled at heavyweight, going 0-2 as well.
The Mustang wrestling team is in action on Tuesday night for a dual with Williams Baptist at Reddin Fieldhouse. The first match begins at 7 p.m.
