Various Locations – A busy slate of competitions dotted the slate today for Central Baptist College athletics with wrestling, volleyball, men's soccer and men's basketball all competing today. Wrestling opened their season at the Kaufman/Bayly/Brand Open in St. Louis, Mo.; Volleyball hosted Harris-Stowe at Reddin Fieldhouse on Senior Day; Men's Soccer took on William Woods in the American Midwest Conference Quarterfinals in Fulton, Mo., and Men's Basketball took on John Brown in Siloam Springs.
CBC took on the Owls of William Woods this afternoon in the AMC Quarterfinals at Firley Field in Fulton, Mo. CBC (5-9-5) allowed three first half goals and saw their season end 4-1 at the hands of WWU (10-5-4).
Alfredo Lopez scored the lone Mustang goal on a 49th minute corner kick off the foot of Jort Bressers. Jasper Gadellaa had a career-high 12 saves in the match, but it wasn't enough as WWU scored goals in the eighth, 20th, 39th and 60th minutes to end CBC's season in the quarterfinals for the second straight year.
