Conway, Ark. – Playing an American Midwest Conference home match on a Tuesday for the second straight week, Central Baptist College men's soccer hosted the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange this afternoon at Centennial Soccer Park. CBC (5-7-3, 1-0-3 AMC) led 1-0 at halftime and won the match 2-1 over HLGU (2-6-3, 0-3-1 AMC).
Jort Bressers notched his first career goal in the match while Daniel Pinkney scored the winner late. Marcos Pires and Parker Tebo were the assistors of the goals as CBC finally picked up an American Midwest Conference victory.
GAME FLOW
Bressers gave CBC the lead in the 18th minute as he worked past three defenders on a beautiful through ball by Pires to make it 1-0 and it stayed that way until the 60th minute when HLGU tied the match on a free kick. Five minutes later, Pinkney followed a block by the HLGU defense with a blazing shot into the lower left hand side of the net to give the Mustangs the lead and put them on six points in the AMC.
