#MustangsWin! CBC Dominates In Shutout of Ecclesia!

            Conway, Ark. – Playing inside the friendly confines of Centennial Soccer Park for just the third time this season, Central Baptist College men's soccer hosted the Royals of Ecclesia College this afternoon on a scorching day on the field. CBC (4-6-1) led 1-0 at halftime and added a pair of second half goals to beat EC (3-5) 3-0.

            Marcos Pires scored the first goal of the contest and Joe McElhinney had a brace in the second half. Connor Sims earned the win in net, making two saves in the shutout.

GAME FLOW

            Pires' second goal of the season opened the scoring in the sixth minute as Daniel Pinkney found Jort Bressers on a cross and then Bressers put one back across net the Pires slid in and finished to take the 1-0 lead. CBC would carry that lead into the halftime break and just seven minutes into the second half, McElhinney made it 2-0 on a beautiful Travella from outside the 18 on an assist from Blaine Gammill. McElhinney's second goal came in the 60th minute after Manny Almaraz headed a corner kick onto his head and made it 3-0.

UP NEXT

            CBC heads to McKenzie, Tenn., on Monday for their final non-conference match of the season against #13 Bethel. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
