Conway, Ark. – With American Midwest Conference play set to begin this weekend, Central Baptist College men's soccer played their final tune-up game this afternoon at Centennial Soccer Park against the Patriots of Baptist Bible College. CBC (3-6) scored four goals in each half and cruised to an 8-1 win over BBC (0-6).
The Mustangs got a pair of goals from Daniel Pinckney and single goals from Alfredo Lopez, Gabriel Mata, Marcos Pires, Eric Padron, Hugh McAuley and Jort Bressers. Pinckney, Bressers and Mario Ceballos also had assists in the contest. Jasper Gadellaa played the first 70 minutes in goal and made two saves before Connor Sims played the final 20 minutes in goal and made a save of his own.
Lopez got the scoring started in the 11th minute on his own followed 20 minutes later by Mata to make it 2-0. Pinckney's first goal came in the 41st minute on an assist by Ceballos and made it 3-0 before Pires scored from Pinckney less than a minute later to make it 4-0 headed into halftime. Pinckney opened the second half scoring 10 minutes into the half on his own and then Bressers assisted Padron's goal in the 59th minute to make it 6-0. McAuley's goal came in the 63rd minute to make it 7-0 and Bressers wrapped up the scoring in the 73rd minute before Baptist Bible netted a goal in the 87th.
The Mustangs return to the field on Saturday for their AMC opener on Saturday afternoon in St. Louis against Harris-Stowe State. Kickoff from Hornets Field is slated for 3:30 p.m.
