Conway, Ark. – Playing at the friendly confines of Centennial Soccer Park for the first time this season, Central Baptist College men's soccer hosted the Toppers of Blue Mountain Christian University on a blazing hot afternoon. CBC (2-4) went into halftime with a scoreless draw before getting a second half goal to beat BMCU (2-2) 1-0.
Daniel Pinckney scored the first home goal of the season for the Mustangs in the 74th minute on an assist from Maynor Sandoval. The attack was generated off a clearance of a corner kick just seconds before Sandoval hit a perfectly weighted pass onto the feet of Pinckney for the winner. Jasper Gadellaa went the distance in goal for his second career shutout, making six saves in the process.
CBC heads to Bolivar, Mo., for the next match on Saturday when they will face the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist and their head coach, CBC alumnus Sabelo Hlongwane. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
