#MustangsWin! Streaking CBC Wins AMC Opener Over UHSP!

            Conway, Ark. – Looking to extend their winning streak to four in a row, Central Baptist College men's soccer hosted the Eutectics of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis today in their American Midwest Conference opener at Centennial Park. CBC (7-1-1, 1-0 AMC) trailed 1-0 at the half but got three second half goals to down UHSP (0-5, 0-1 AMC) 3-1.

            Chris Orellana, Bradley Turnage and Daniel Mondragon had the goals for CBC while Daniel Pinkney had two assists with Orellana and Okikiola Ojeniyi registered one as well. The Mustangs allowed a goal in the second minute of play before the offense netted three goals in the final 28 minutes, including two in the final five, to secure the win.

MATCH NOTES

  • CBC improved to 8-0 all-time against the Eutectics and have now outscored UHSP 37-3 all-time
  • CBC also improve to 6-0 this season when scoring three goals or more and 86-7-2 all-time in that category
  • Orellana's goal in the 63rd minute, tied the score and was his first of the season and the 11th of his career
  • Turnage's goal, which ended up being the winner, coming the 86th minute for his first in a Mustang uniform
  • Mondragon's goal came in the 89th minute and was his fifth of the season and the 14th of his career
  • Pinkney's two assists give him 11 for the season, making him just the third player in program history to record a double-digit assist season, joining Jonathan Jacobs and Sabelo Hlongwane
  • Pinkney also has 28 points this season, which is the eighth most so far in a single season
  • Orellana's assist was his second of the season and the ninth of his career
  • Ojeniyi's assist was his second of the season and of his career
  • Coach Lance Gordon won his 25th match in charge of the Mustangs

            CBC steps out of conference for their next match, which will be on Tuesday afternoon against Ecclesia in Bella Vista. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
